The concept behind this design is to evoke strong feelings and emotions in customers, enticing them to choose this brand over others. By deviating from the standard symbols commonly used in wine packaging, Valerii Sumilov has created a fresh and unexpected visual representation of Spanish wines.
The packaging design aims to capture the attention of modern individuals who value quality and want to be seen as pioneers. It materializes their thoughts and desires, creating an empathic link between the consumer and the product. The use of expressive and emotional elements in the design allows customers to see a tangible embodiment of their own emotions.
To bring this concept to life, modern printing and post-printing techniques such as foil stamping, embossing, and tactile varnish were employed. High-quality artistic paper was used for printing, ensuring a visually appealing and tactile experience for customers.
The label dimensions for this design are 110 mm in length and 163 mm in width. The project started in November 2014 and was concluded in 2014, with the product appearing on Russian market shelves in January 2015.
Extensive marketing and psychological research was conducted to determine the visual elements that would elicit an empathic response in potential buyers while clearly conveying the Spanish origin of the wine. The result is a design that successfully breaks away from clichés while maintaining a strong connection to its cultural roots.
This innovative packaging design by Valerii Sumilov has been recognized with the Silver A' Design Award in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate exceptional expertise, innovation, and artistic skill. The Spanish wine series stands out for its technical excellence and ability to evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
